PTA Meeting
January 11, 2010
Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Lisa S. at 5:32 p.m.
Attendance: Christine K., Courtney L., Katie M., Shawn P., Lisa S., Deb S., Dawn S., Dawna S., Joe T., and Amy W.
Approval of Minutes
It was moved and seconded, to approve the minutes from the November 9, 2009, PTA meeting. The motion carried.
Treasures Report:
Dawna reported a concern with our Employee Identification Numbers. We have two ID numbers and need to consolidate them into one number. Dawna will close our account at the bank and open a new one, and will wait for a letter from the IRS confirming our ID number. Please see the letter attached in the official minutes detailing this.
Fundraisers:
There was some concern over items sold and were never delivered for the fall fundraiser. Students will be reminded the importance of selling only to those they know. The magazine sale will be set up for the end of February kick-off date. Lisa S. will contact Sara M. about the exact date. It was decided that in these economic times, there will be no letter of appeal asking families for donations. Dawn reported that Cub Foods and Simplified Scrip are no longer fundraisers.
Spirit Wear
It was suggested that this be an every other year sale, with next year a possibility for new apparel.
Other Business:
The winter conference meal will be on February 4, and Shawn will chair it. Spring pictures will be on March 30. Teacher Appreciation will be either the week of May 17 or May 23. Lisa will contact Melissa L. about which week she would prefer to chair it.
