Hello
Madison Students and Families!
My name is Dr. Paula
Henry and I am Madison Elementary School’s new Principal. I am honored and
thrilled to work in such a caring and committed school environment.
From the minute I walked in the door
last October as the AYP Support Teacher, I noticed something special about Madison
School! Our students are engaged in learning, and our teachers work tirelessly
to inspire and motivate them. Staff provides challenging and meaningful
learning experiences in a safe, caring, and respectful environment. Working as
a team, we inspire all learners to reach their highest potential.
As you walk through
our hallways you will feel the warm, safe, nurturing environment that is
critical to our students' success. I speak from the heart when I say that Madison
is an amazing place where teachers work actively to provide a well-rounded
education for our children.
A bit about me professionally… I will begin my 17th year in
District 742. I have taught at McKinley, Kennedy, Talahi, and now I am
fortunate to be at Madison. For three years, I was the Literacy Coordinator at
Talahi School. I have taught K, 2, 3, 4, and grade 5! I completed my doctoral
work in 2007. The research and work I did focused on proven strategies for
revitalizing at-risk students and low performing schools; urban schools with
increasing challenges.
A bit about me personally… My husband Tom and I grew up in St.
Cloud. We have three great kids, one son in the navy, and a son and daughter in
college. We are proud to say our children attended St. Cloud Public schools. We
love the outdoors, hiking, boating, grilling, and visiting with friends. Lastly,
we have two rowdy Jack Russell terriers and one fat cat.
I warmly welcome
you. Please come and visit!
I welcome your
support and involvement in Madison’s strong, child-centered school community.
Most importantly, I would love to talk with you and share what I love about Madison
and why I am honored to work in this community I call home.
Every day I look forward to interacting with students and
families and encourage you to contact me with questions, concerns, or input at
any time. You can reach me by phone 320-252-4665, by email or stop in and
visit.
Sincerely,
Dr. Paula Henry
