Physical Description
The macaw is the largest parrot in the world and this bird is 40inches tall and weighs about 2 to 4 pounds. The macaw has a blue purple body of feathers. The color is like the color of a blueberry. They have a black beak with bright yellow along the bottom of the beak and around its eyes. The head is a light shade of gray on the underside.
Habitat
Macaws live in lightly forested areas with seasonally flooded grassland riversides, tropical rainforests, and palm swamps. The macaw is found in the countries of Bolivia, Paraguay, South America, and Brazil.
Eating Habits
The macaw has a powerful beak. It is used for cracking hard nuts and for chewing on wood. The macaws favorite foods are hard nuts, fruit palm, and vegetables. They are messy eaters.
