Description

Mayfies have transparent veined wings.  That means you can see through their wings.  They are aquatic insects whose begining stage is called aniad.      

Habitat

Fresh water fish eat mayflies. Mayflies live in water.  You will find mayflies in the wetland.

Interesting Facts

The adult mayfly lives only 12 to 24 hours.  Adult mayflies don't eat food becuse they live for only one day.  Young mayflies are called nymphs. Nymphs may take several years to reach the adult stage.
