Raccoons

Raccoons need water to eat because they can't make saliva.

Description

Most raccoons are grey, white and black.   The raccoons have a fluffy tail with four to seven rings of dark fur.  They have sharp noses with black tips and long whiskers.

Habitat

Raccoons live in North America. They don't live in deserts or mountain regions.  They live in trees with holes in them.

Interesting Facts

Raccoon babies are called kits.  They are usually born in the Spring.  Raccoons generally have four or five kits.  Most baby raccoons are born in a hollow tree.
