Students were to write about “What Freedom Means to Me.” Students were scored on overall content, neatness, sentence and paragraph structure, originality, and conventions. Kennedy Elementary is proud to announce that Gabby Langerud was awarded third place and will be honored at a luncheon and receive a cash prize of $25.00. Congratulations Gabby!

New second grade web pages online now
Second graders at Kennedy will be visiting St. John's Arboretum in April. They will be learning more about insects in three different habitats at the arboretum. Second graders in Mr. Beneke's class researched insects and animals in the three habitats and created web pages to help prepare for their field trip. Each student selected an animal or insect and created their own web page. The class then used the web pages to learn about insects and animals researched and prepared by their classmates. Kennedy school cares
Kennedy elementary kicked off American Education Week on Monday, November 12th with a full school event outside on our walking path. Each classroom was given a letter of the slogan, "Kennedy Cares", which is our new PBIS theme. A giant circle was created for some Kennedy cheers to take place. The whole school then assembled in the center for a photo to capture our school community. It was a fitting start to a week that celebrates our "Great Public Schools for Every Child."

Online art gallery opens
Kennedy student art work will now be displayed in the Kennedy online art gallery. Art teacher, Peggy Eigen, will be posting projects to a "Gallery Page" and describing the projects in an accompanying "Blog". You can visit these pages by clicking on the links in the toolkit on the right side of this page. There is a comment area if you'd like to post one and you can get your own digital copy of any of the projects by clicking the download button. The selected project will then be downloaded to the computer you are viewing from. We hope you enjoy the wonderful student projects as well as the many view options.
