American Education Week November 17th-21st: Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility
American Education week will take place on November 17th through the 21st. There will be events daily at Discovery. There will be various community building projects by each grade level in the school.
Projects by Grade Level:
Kindergarten: Decorate Cashwise Foods grocery bags
First Grade: Placemats for Nursing Home residents
Second Grade: Letters for Discovery's entryway
Third Grade: Pennants or banners
Fourth Grade: To be determined
Fifth Grade: Discussion about education in classrooms
Sixth Grade: Discussion about education in classrooms
There will also be School Spirit Days
Monday-Wear red, white, and blue
Tuesday-Wear your favorite color
Wednesday-Crazy Sock Day
Thursday-Sportswear Day
Friday-Discovery Colors Day/Discovery Shirts
Breakfast with Parents will also be serving from 7:30-7:50 a.m.:
Tuesday November 18th: Muffins for Mom
Thursday November 20th: Donuts for Dad
Field Trips
This is the time of year that classes can take advantage of pleasant fall weather to enjoy field trips. To view upcoming field trips click on the word calendar in the blue column on the left.

Are you interested in safe, fun and educational web site options for your children? Click on "Learning Links" at the left of your screen. On that page you will find sites that Discovery teachers recommend and are using at your child's school. In addition, at the top of the page, you will find a link to numerous sites researched and recommended by District 742 Media Specialists.
Your Food Account Balance
Families and staff can check their food account balance and date of last transaction. You will be prompted to enter a PIN number. Parents: this is the same PIN your child uses to purchase breakfast, lunch, milk and a la carte items. Forgot that PIN? Contact the school's office.
