Joanne Dorsher has been involved in education all her
life. She comes to the Board with a perspective of a
student, a teacher, an administrator, a parent, and
a community volunteer. She graduated from UCLA with
a major in psychology/mathematics and holds a Master’s
degree from the University of Minnesota in special education.
Her previous experiences include being a special education
teacher and the administrator of a developmental achievement
center. She has been involved in District 742 schools
the past ten years, volunteering in the classroom, providing
enrichments for students, and participating in site
councils and district committees. Outside of school
hours, Joanne coached Academic Triathlon and Odyssey
of the Mind Teams.
Currently, Dorsher is on the board of the Great River
Educational Arts Theatre, and serves occasionally as
a costumer. As part of the School Board, she serves
as the Chair of the Board Personnel Committee and is
a member of the Board Community Linkages Committee.
She is the Board appointed representative on the Central
Minnesota Joint Powers Board, the Fiber Optics Joint
Powers Board, the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Grant
Advisory Committee, the Community Relations Task Force,
the Special Education Study Review Committee, the Waite
Park Chamber of Commerce, and the Schools for Equity
in Education (SEE) Organization. Dorsher is the Board
of Education liaison to Discovery Community School,
Area Learning Center, and the Children’s Home.

Sigrid Hedman-Dennis brings a nursing perspective to the board. She has a bachelor of arts in nursing from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, and a master of science in nursing from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. She is a licensed registered nurse and a certified clinical nurse specialist in the area of pediatrics.
Sigrid is employed by the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University as a nursing faculty/clinical nurse specialist. Her area of expertise is infant, child and young adult care.
Sigrid and her spouse Jon Dennis have 2 sons, Marc and Paul. Jon and Sigrid have been volunteers in the St. Cloud Area Schools during theirs sons attendance at Westwood, Discovery, North, and Apollo.
Sigrid will chair the Board Development Committee and be a member of the Personnel Committee for the 2008 year.

Les Green graduated from Ralph H. Rosenberger High School, St. Cloud. He graduated from St. Cloud State College in 1972, with majors in sociology and psychology. In 1993, Les received a master's degree in Human Relations from St. Cloud State University. He received his Doctorate in Educational Administration and Leadership from the University of Minnesota in October of 2006
He was St. Cloud State's first African American instructor in 1972 in the Department of Education, helping write the curriculum for the first Human Relations program for in-servicing teachers. He served on the College of St. Benedict faculty from 1972 to 1974. Gov. Wendell Anderson appointed Les to the Minnesota Corrections Authority, where he served as vice chair for eight years and chair for two years. Green served as Executive Officer of Adult Release until 1986 when he resigned to return to school and earn his master's degree.
Green is on the boards of Wells Fargo Bank, St. John's University Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation. He also serves on the general grants committee of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation. His full-time job is director of the Office of Cultural Diversity in the College of Education at SCSU.

Deb Lalley has a bachelor of science in Nursing from
St. Olaf College and a master of science from the University
of Minnesota. She is licensed as an advanced practice
registered nurse in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Deb provides therapy and psychiatric medication management
to children and adolescents at the CentraCare Child and Adolescent Specialty Center.
She is married to Patrick Lalley. Her three children
graduated from District 742 schools. She was active
as a site council member at Kennedy, Discovery, North
and Apollo schools.
Deb served on the Board of Education from 2000 to 2004.
She was a member of the steering committee for Kids
Voting of St. Cloud Area and served as vice chair of
the last election campaign. She is an advisory board
member for Safe Schools/Healthy Students. She's a member
of Stearns County Children's Mental Health Work Group.
She is a past board member of Local Education and Activities
Foundation and a past board member of Big Brothers/Big
Sisters of Central Minnesota.

Bruce A. Mohs

Bruce Mohs is a retired public school educator who brings a broad background of educational experience and perspective to the District 742 Board of Education. His professional background includes classroom teaching, athletic coaching, student advising, building administration, program supervision, and international education. His work experience included duties and responsibilities at the junior high, senior high, technical college, and university levels.
During his thirty-two year professional career in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District in southeastern Wisconsin, Mohs taught high school biology, coached boys and girls athletics, advised student organizations, and was a substitute building administrator before his retirement in June of 2000. In addition, he worked ten years part-time for Milwaukee Area Technical College as an Adult Education program supervisor and Weekend College program coordinator. He also has international teaching experience as an adjunct faculty ESL instructor at the University of Guam (2001-2002), and ESL summer language camp teacher at Liaoning University and Beijing Normal University in the People’s Republic of China (1985).
Mohs was born and raised in St. Cloud, and was educated in the public schools of District 742. He attended Jefferson Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Garfield Elementary, Central Junior High School and Technical High School. He graduated from St. Cloud Tech (‘62) where he lettered in hockey and was a member of the National Honor Society and the Junior Rotarians. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from St. Cloud State University (1968), a Master of Science Teaching Degree in Biology from the University of Arizona (1973), and a Master of Science Degree in Secondary School Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee(1983).
As a member of the District 742 Board Of Education, Mohs has served as Vice-Chairman (2006) and Chairman (2007) of the school board, and chair of the Board Development Committee (2006) and Community Linkages Committee (2005 and 2008). He’s also served as a member of the board’s contract negotiating team and as a board liaison to Tech, Apollo, NJHS, Lincoln and Talahi. At the state level, Mohs is currently on the executive board of Schools for Equity in Education (SEE), and has been selected to serve as a Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) Ambassador Speaker. In 2008, Mohs received the MSBA Director’s Award for having completed 100 hours of professional development training.
In addition to his duties and responsibilities as a member of the District 742 Board of Education, Mohs is involved in a number of community organizations and activities including the St. Cloud Tech High School Alumni Association, East Side Boosters, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, Great River Interfaith Partnership (GRIP), and Salem Lutheran Church.

Ronald Seibring, vice-chair

Ron Seibring has been a member of the St. Cloud community
for more than 20 years. He is director of sport facilities
and campus recreation at St. Cloud State University.
He has a master's degree in Athletic Administration
and a bachelor's degree in Health Education from Western
Illinois University.
Ron has served as site council president
at Oak Hill Elementary School. He has volunteered on
three District 742 committees: Student Activities Advisory,
Curriculum and Excess Levy.
Ron and his wife, Jan, have four children. Megan, Matthew and
Micki graduated from Tech High School. Michael
is currently a student at Tech High School.

Jerry Von Korff graduated with honors in economics from
Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio. He attended Georgetown
University Law Center, Washington D.C., where he was
the law review editor. Jerry also has a master of arts
in teaching and taught high school for five years. He
has been an attorney for 28 years, concentrating in
governmental advice and litigation, with seven years
of business management experience hiring, budgeting
and supervising. He has been a partner with the Rinke-Noonan
law firm since 1984.
Jerry served as president of the St. Cloud Symphony,
chair of the District 742 Curriculum Advisory Committee,
chair of the Minnesota Bar Association Fee Mediation
Committee, chair of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce
Education Division, chair of the District 742 Talent
Development Committee, chair of the Minnesota Department
of Education’s Challenge Task Force, and chair
of the District 742 Elementary Science Task Force. He
also is a past board member of the Association of Information
Technology Professionals. He has volunteered as a teacher
and tutor in District 742 for more than 20 years. He
started the Upward Bound program at Trinity College,
Washington, D.C.
Jerry and his wife, Connie, have three sons Joshua,
Benjamin and Michael. All three attended District 742
schools. The Von Korffs volunteered at Lincoln, Jefferson
and Talahi schools. Jerry taught arithmetic and mathematics
and Connie taught reading and literature.
