Youth Enrichment Programs

District 742 Community Education offers a wide array of youth enrichment programs. Take a look and see what we have to offer. Feel free to contact us with any new program ideas. We welcome your suggestions.

Catalog Offerings: You're invited to come and have lots of fun participating in a wide variety of programs that will teach you new skills and encourage you to explore new opportunities. Community Education offers youth enrichment classes in the areas of Arts and Crafts, Foods, Health and Fitness, Special Interest and Recreational Activities including aquatics. After School Programs: Parents, if you are looking for a safe, fun after-school environment for your children, we may have what you're looking for. Programs are being offered at Clearview, Discovery, Kennedy, Lincoln, Madison, Oak Hill, Talahi and Westwood schools. For more information call 529-6500 ext. 6259.

Extended Day Project: We provide support for special-needs children participating in after-school activities. For more information contact Julie Johnson at 529-6500 ext. 6272.

Looking for Youth Instructors

Do you enjoy working with kids? Do you have a particular interest or talent? Opportunities exist for instructors who would like to teach evening, weekend or after-school programs for Community Education. Did You Know: Facts about our Community Ed programs

It is estimated the average child watches more than 20,000 commercials every year - that works out to at least 55 commercials per day. Kids are glued to the tube and bombarded by commercials.

Most people start using tobacco before they finish high school. This means that if you stay smoke free in school, you will probably never smoke.
