Classroom Communication Via the Web
Use FastPage to create and maintain a web page with a time commitment
of just minutes a day. FastPage web pages can display classroom
information, assignments, subjects taught, schedules and more. Look
for teacher-created FastPages on school web sites.
FastPage Basics
1. Your FastPage web address is based on your username. Examples:
http://staffweb.isd742.org/~skline/
http://staffweb.isd742.org/~hpringle/
http://staffweb.isd742.org/~sdube/
2. When your FastPage is finished, ask your media specialist to
create a link to it on your school's web site.
3. If you make a FastPage -- keep it up-to-date. Updating assignments
and activities is as simple as typing new information and then clicking
the Create Page / Update page button.
4. Make Favorites in your Internet Explorer browser so you can
quickly find the FastPage page and your personal FastPage web site.
5. If you post a photo it must be a JPEG (.jpg or .jpe). For best
results limit the photo to 230 pixels in width and 300 pixels in
height. The photo's file size cannot exceed 20 KB. While you can
use a photo 400 pixels wide by 300 pixels tall, it will force the
right border of your page outward, distorting its appearance.
6. If you need assistance sizing and formatting a photo, talk to
your media specialist or contact Sue McGlynn
(x-1526). If you're familiar with image-editing software -- such
as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Fireworks, Paint Shop Pro or Graphics
Converter (Mac) -- you can edit the photo yourself.
