District Improvement Plan

St. Cloud Area School District did not make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in 2008 and 2007 based on definitions established by Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. A district or multiple-site charter school that does not make AYP is classified as In Need of Improvement which includes several stages.

The first step in this process is to create a District Improvement Plan that will be turned in to MDE. A District Improvement Planning Committee is charged with writing the plan.

Quality Indicators Needs Assessment (QINA) - October 1 Meeting

Quality Indicators is a self-assessment model to help schools evaluate components of their educational programming: curriculum; instruction; assessments and use of results; staff development; engaging families and community; leadership and governance; and planning and resources. For each indicator, schools declare a level of implementation: 1) “no systemwide approach” 2) “early development” 3) “full development of a systemwide approach” 4) “full implementation” and 5) “evaluation and improvement of the plan and its implementation.” Results of the Quality Indicators evaluation are intended to help schools make informed decisions in regard to school improvement initiatives.
