About North Junior High School

North is a middle school of about 650 students on the north side of St. Cloud, Minnesota. Our school provides a small, personalized, learning atmosphere by dividing students into teams of about 150. Each team has its own teachers, schedule and location in the school.

To help students meet our high expectations, we offer:

• an excellent teaching staff of caring and competent professionals, 70 percent of whom have graduate degrees
• a curriculum aligned with national standards of excellence
• enriched and accelerated classes for high performing students
• basic skills classes for students who are missing essential skills
• choir, band, and orchestra programs
• arts, technology and language programs, as well as in-school and after-school tutoring and mentoring programs
• special education programs for students on IEPs
• a full range of extracurricular sports and activities

We believe success is a matter of choice, not chance. So, we help our students improve their social and emotional intelligence quotient (EQ). A strong EQ includes:
