How will you be Graded?
Your efforts will be evaluated in several ways:
- You will be rating your own performance at Hogwarts after each day
there. You'll be filling out a rubric and conferencing with your
teacher as you both go over your journal and assignments. Your
teacher will fill out a copy of the same rubric you filled out so that you
may get specific feedback on how to improve and what you are doing
well. Save your daily feedback from your teacher and your daily
self-evaluation sheets in your folder. An average of your
daily ratings agreed upon by you and your teacher will be used as half of
your final grade.
Here is an example of the Daily Rubric:
- Your final grade for this project will be a combination of your daily
work and your final project. Your final project will be a PowerPoint
presentation which will be a combination of your journal and a final project
of your choice. This final project will be rated on nearly the same criteria
as your daily work. It should showcase all the things you've learned
such as vocabulary, knowledge of the literary components of the book
such as the book's theme,
plot, characters, setting, etc. It
will also showcase your
skills at using the Office Tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Here is the Final Project Rubric.
- The Daily Scores will be averaged to find the Daily Score Mean.
- The Final Evaluation (PowerPoint Presentation) will be evaluated and
scored.
- The Daily Score Mean will be averaged with Final Evaluation (PowerPoint
Presentation) score. This final average will provide the Final Score
for the Harry Potter WebQuest.
To truly celebrate the philosophy of learning Technology at the Point of
Instruction, all final PowerPoint projects should be published online.
If at all possible, students may do this themselves through use of Microsoft
FrontPage!
